A UNIQUE TERROIR
At an altitude of 900 meters, our mate grows in the heart of the biodiversity of the Santa Catarina region, in the great valley of the Iguaçu River, in Brazil.
The terroir , as with wine, has a crucialinfluence on the final flavor of yerba mate. The minerals contained in the soil will impart varying degrees of bitterness, length on the palate, or astringency to the final infusion.
This region has the distinction of producing a high-quality, particularly balanced mate with vegetal and floral notes and a balanced bitterness .
TRADITIONAL ORGANIC AGRICULTURE
For over 100 years , our partner has been keeping their passion and expertise alive by cultivating a native yerba , renowned for its original taste and famous for its sweetness.
The leaves of this organic yerba mate are harvested at maturity every 12 months. After harvesting, the mate dries naturally (without smoke) before being enjoyed fresh, or undergoing an additional stage of aging or roasting .
